In my last article I introduced the notion of costs in Projects and my belief in the value of including cost information. Before I proceed it should be noted that Microsoft Project is NOT a Project Accounting tool and that it is not designed to model cash inflows to a project, furthermore its Cashflow forecasting is simplistic in that it assumes money is spent when work is done and that may not always be the case. However at a high level the cost information generated by Microsoft Project can be used by an organisation to forecast expenditure and funding requirements over time. Read the rest of this entry »
